Turning Interest into Action
Our Mission is to help S.O.L.V.E. (Solutions Offering Leaders Vision through Education.) Problems our students face are the lack of Housing and access to Education. Our aim is to eliminate those impediments. We are partnering with local resources to direct contributed funds to where the need is greatest for our children. We also strive to partner with other charities that share our mission.
Avis May Mullings was born on July 27th, 1933, in Portland, Jamaica. Avis is the mother of nine children. With the tools she was given and the limited access to education for herself she managed to thrive in the 1940s through 1950s. In that time Avis helped young single mothers with their children with food and shelter, on occasion when shelter was unavailable, she would have them in her home with her and her kids. With her limited education she moved forward. Here at The Avis May Mullings Foundation, we aim to continue with her legacy, Mantra. S.O.L.V.E.
